Today, there are several classifications of wooden wallpaper, and not all of them use natural wood in production. But first things first.

Types of wooden wallpaper

There are several varieties of wooden wallpaper:

  1. natural wood wallpaper;
  2. veneer wooden wallpaper;
  3. cork wood wallpaper.

Wallpaper made of wood. The material combined the usual wallpaper with wall panels. As a result, we got specific panels from thin small boards with a wide variety of profiles, which have a wide variety of design variations. It is wide decorative possibilities that are the main advantage of wooden wallpaper. Moreover, the installation method is quite simple: the panels are joined together using a hidden connection, which helps to maintain an accurate pattern on the material. Well, through such cracks, the tree "breathes" perfectly, which also affects the microclimate of the room.

Wallpaper made of natural wood does not require special care and have a long service life. Moreover, such material is easily dismantled and reassembled, which will be appropriate when updating the interior. So, to summarize the merits of wooden wallpaper:

  • environmental friendliness;
  • wide decorative possibilities;
  • easy installation;
  • simplicity in leaving;
  • durability;
  • ease of selection of a border.

But, like any tree, wallpapers have the same disadvantages:

  • afraid of moisture;
  • afraid of various pests and insects;
  • fire hazardous (although there is a production option from thermal wood. Although it is more expensive, it is better not to save here).

Veneered wooden wallpaper can be found on store shelves in the form of a roll of veneer with a thickness of about 0.1 mm and created from precious wood. The production technology is as follows: veneer is simply glued onto thick paper with an even layer, that's all. Such material will perfectly decorate a bedroom, a nursery or a living room.

Wallpaper made of balsa wood consists of rolls and sheets of material created by grinding and pressing bark of balsa wood. At the same time, the material is often coated with veneer to give an elegant look. Today, there are several types of cork wallpaper:

  1. impregnated with natural wax;
  2. polished.

Such material is famous for its wide decorative capabilities due to the wide combination of veneer with various dyes. The material has a unique natural structure, due to which they practically do not undergo aging, are not picky in care and do not absorb various odors (smoke from cigarettes, for example). The material does not require special preparation of the walls and lies on almost any surface. The border, as well as with a natural tree, is easily selected. Among other things, cork wood wallpapers are distinguished by high sound and heat insulation. High acoustic properties of the material give the room a special and unique atmosphere. Wallpaper suppresses echoes and greatly muffles external noise. This is undoubtedly a great option for a home cinema room. Well, or for people who like to listen to loud music.
